General information

Phentermine is one of the most common ingredient in a range of weight loss pills, and works by suppressing the user's appetite. PHENTERMINE Hydrochloride is used as a short-term drug in combination with a good exercise and diet plan. The drug is used to treat obesity in patients who also have the risk of other obesity-related problems such as diabetes and hypertension. It received approval from the United States FDA as a drug for suppressing appetite back in 1959.

Directions

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take this medicine about 30 minutes before a meal. Take your last dose of the day at least 4 to 6 hours before bedtime. If you are taking this medicine 1 time a day, take your dose in the morning. You should ensure that you don’t take this drug with other stimulant medications as they can make you feel agitated and restless. 

Precautions

Use of this medicine is not recommended if you have a history of;

• heart conditions;
• brain or spinal cord disorders;
• atherosclerosis;
• high blood pressure;
• glaucoma;
• hyperthyroidism.

Contraindications

Do not exceed the recommended dose or take this medicine for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. Exceeding the recommended dose or taking this medicine for longer than prescribed may cause serious side effects.

For women

If you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. It is unknown if this medicine is excreted in breast milk. DO NOT breast-feed while taking this medicine.

Possible side effect

Side effects that may occur while taking this medicine include:

• restlessness;
• nervousness;
• difficulty sleeping;
• dry mouth.

If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor.

Drug interaction

Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine.
Do not use this medicine if you are also taking:

• guanadrel;
• guanethidine;
• furazolidone;
• fenfluramine;
• dexfenfluramine;
• monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).

Missed dose

If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. If it is after noon and you are taking this medicine 1 time a day or after 4 pm and you are taking it more than 1 time a day, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Overdose

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include:

• restlessness;
• tremor;
• rapid breathing;
• confusion;
• nausea;
• vomiting;
• diarrhea and stomach cramps.

Storage

Store Phentermine HCL 30mg at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Do not store the drugs in the bathroom. Keep all drugs away from reach of children and pets.
